Thesis Film: 'Ionia - The Arid Tundra'
'Ionia - The Arid Tundra' is my fourth-year film and a love letter to animation and animals. Both hold etymological roots to the Latin prefix anima (life, spirit, breath), with animals being living, breathing things, and animation being the illusion of life. To honor life both real and imagined, we explore the Arid Tundra habitat found on alien exoplanet Ionia, home to a plethora of wonderfully strange fauna.
Third-Year Film: 'Johann Brockie and the Wolf'
'Johann Brockie' is a character I developed back in the late 2010's as a badass monster hunter in a dark, gothic world. My third-year film, 'Johann Brockie and the Wolf,' pits Johann against a ferocious lycanthrope: a revenant that takes on the grotesque guise of a wolf. A winner of SVA's underclassman film fest, The Undies! Best Production Design 2020!
Second-Year Film: 'Kaiju a la Mode'
Four kaiju friends battle over who gets to pay the bill at a restaurant! Based on a group of characters I've been drawing since 2009, 'Kaiju a la Mode' is an exploration of fight choreography and comedic timing. Giant monsters lend themselves surprisingly well to slapstick!
